BEST OF BOTH WORLDS //

You love the water, we get it.  You're in good company.  We can't seem to get away from it either.  When we're not on top of it we want to be under it.  Join us for a sailing and SCUBA diving trip to St. Maarten (yep, that one that has the planes landing basically on the beach) and the Leeward islands on a nice big catamaran.  Same YachtLegend service, plus blow some bubbles.

YachtLegend is proud to be partnered with MountainSea Exploration for this adventure. See MountainSea Exploration’s route website for information to sign up!

SATURDAY //

// ANSE MARCEL MARINA - 18°07.393'N 063°02.296'W

All crew should arrive at SXM in the afternoon. Once all gathered we will jump in a shuttle and head to the french side of St. Martin to Anse Marcel Marina. This evening we’ll settle in our new home for the week, get to know the boat and each other over a delicious dinner at Calypso, a favorite restaurant in the area. Duck pizza and the St. Thomas salad come highly recommended!

SUNDAY //

// ILE TINTAMARRE - 18°07.227'N 062°59.056'W

In the morning, we’ll motor sail to Ile Tintamarre, a small island with a long, pristine, white sandy beach. Our first dive of the trip will be this morning on the tugboat in Tintamarre, a wreck sitting in about 35’ of water, a perfect dive to get our feet wet and blow some bubbles! Those already certified will complete a few skills underwater as a checkout dive and the new open water divers will complete their open water dive one.

The rest of the day is spent paddling a SUP around the bay, lounging on the beach and hiking around the island.

MONDAY //

// ILE FOURCHE, ST. BARTHS // 17°57.395'N 062°54.437'W

This morning we complete our second dive of the trip on the northern side of Tintamarre. Those certifying will be half way to their certification after this dive. This will be our first real sail this week from Tintemarre to Ile Fourche (11nm). You can pretty much guarantee 15 to 20 knots on a close reach.

Ile Fourche is a marine protected and uninhabited island of St. Barths. This is a great place to snorkel, there are excellent reefs here and they are very accessible. Later we’ll go for a dive off the point. Open water diver candidates will finish dive number three! The Caribbean is not just for diving and sailing, Ile Fourche offers one of the best places to take in a sunset hike up to the highest point on the island. Dinner, we’ll barbecue some local fish over rice and veggies. Wind down by watching shooting stars up on the trampoline!

TUESDAY //

// GUSTAVIA, ST. BARTHS // 17°53.818'N 062°50.964'W

Wake up to a small breakfast and the last certification dive. Save your appetite, because where we’re going has some of the best crepes and bakeries in the Caribbean! After the newly certified divers jump back on board we sail to Gustavia, the main town and capital of St. Barths, a swanky little harbour known for its celebrity sightings. A must to walk through once, enjoy brunch at the creperie and provision as necessary.

Next, we’ll motor around the corner to the cliff jumping bay. A cliff to jump for all levels depending on your need for adventure! The afternoon will end with a dive on Grosse Islets, a reef abundant with lobsters, angel fish and barracuda.

Get yourself looking all spiffy because tonight we hit the night life in Gustavia. Dinner, drinks and music in town!

WEDNESDAY //

// ANSE A COLOMBIER, ST. BARTHS // 17°55.398'N 062°52.365'W

This morning will be relaxed, but get prepared because we are diving late morning on another beautiful site in Gross Islets and once in this afternoon in Colombier. We don’t have far to go today, so we can spend more time relaxing on the boat and doing some fun diving.

We’ll have lunch underway as we go on a short run to Colombier, a popular bay in St. Barths for locals to spend the weekend boating, partying and relaxing. All divers head to North point for a great dive. After a long day of adventure, cocktail hour will be calling…

THURSDAY //

// ANSE A COLOMBIER, ST. BARTHS // 17°55.398'N 062°52.365'W

Today is all about diving. We’ll go on two dives today on Rockefeller Point. Unreal underwater world to see here at about 70’. The dives start shallow, get deep and slowly rise back up to 30’. Swimming around the entire small islands is the best way to see this dive site.

In between diving today, we’ll take a hike out to the windward side of the island to Flammands Beach, a long white sand beach. There you can body surf a bit or walk the long beach to stretch your legs.

FRIDAY //

// GRAND CASE, ST. MAARTEN - 18°06.247'N 063°03.551'W

Today we have another long sail, but a nice beam to broad reach back to St. Martin. We’ll drop a hook in Grand Case, a fun French town with amazing local food! Before heading in to town for our last night out, we have an afternoon of options. We can dive on a nice 35’ reef called Creole Rock, SUP around the crystal clear water in the bay, or spend the afternoon on the beach soaking
up the last amount of rays to take home and make the co-workers jealous! Get all dressed up to head out for dinner at Sky’s the Limit, the best local Caribbean food in St. Martin. Afterwards, we’ll walk over to the beach bar, Calmos, for a cocktail, sit back and relax in their lounge chairs and reminisce on our adventures from the week. There will be a lot of stories to tell!!
